Just upgrading to Plesk 11.09, has broken my web server setup. Because of some special resource sharing, I need to include a lib folder for every vhost domain, which does not work any more with the new plesk. The only fix I found, is the following:

Edit the php.php template of plesk:

 nano /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/templates/default/service/php.php

Rewrite the settings. Instead of

Just needed a ARM compiled version of Bluecove 2.1.0 for Java+Bluez Bluetooth support. This version is known to work on a GuruPlug with ARM5 compatible CPU and Debian. Perhaps this binary is also useful for others. For the source look at the original Bluecove website, this is just the current version.

By default a Courier IMAP configured server only allows 4 connections per IP which causes usually a lot of problems with nearly every eMail client, causing for example the following exception:

Unable to connect to your IMAP server. You may have exceeded the maximum number of connections to this server.

Then edit your imap config

sudo nano /etc/courier-imap/imapd

And extend the connection limits

...
MAXDAEMONS=80
...
MAXPERIP=40
...

Don't forget to restart the server

sudo /etc/init.d/courier-imap restart

Just had the problem that after some updates users can't login anymore at the atmail webmail system of the a plesk managed server. Searching around the web I found the following solution which worked for me:

sudo nano /var/www/atmail/libs/Atmail/Global.php

Insert the following in the AtmailGlobal class:

public function __destruct()
{
  session_write_close();
}

It fixes some bad session logic of Atmail.

Until today I don't know how many hours I spent into investigating how to make my backups reliable. Because I need to process several hundreds of gigabytes really every free backup solution available on the Linux market (April 2010) is not useful at all! Please correct me if I have overseen something important, but I will discuss these "backup" programs in detail. Note that by backup I mean not archiving which is a quite different topic to discuss about.

Audacity was instable and is just crashing after some seconds without any error. Thus I want to use a program similiar to dvgrab and found arecord. If you configured ALSA properly through your favorite control panel you can just use it this way:

arecord -f S16_LE -c2 -r48000 -t wav > myrecord.wav

is the same as using the dat preset

arecord -f dat -t wav > myrecord.wav

Update

This tutorial has stopped working for me but now I got some hints from other readers of my blog. It seems that one has to load the proper firmware first, but I will investigate this further.
